T20 World Cup 2022 QualifiersThe T20 World Cup is the world championship of Twenty20 cricket. Organized by cricket’s governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC), the tournament consists of 16 teams, comprising the top ten teams from the rankings at the given deadline and six other teams chosen through the T20 World Cup Qualifier. The event is normally played over about a month in late June and early July.
It was first held in 2007 and was won by India, who beat Pakistan in the final. The next edition of the T20 World Cup will be held in October-November 2022 in Australia. The tournament will feature 16 teams – 10 from ICC Full Members and six qualifiers – playing 31 matches across eight venues.
All matches will have reserve days to ensure their completion despite rain or any other unforeseen delays. To qualify for the 2022 T20 World Cup, all 103 ICC member nations will compete in regional qualifying tournaments between 2019 and 2021 to determine which teams progress to the final qualifier tournament in 2022. From there, two more places will be up for grabs at cricket’s showpiece global event.
